Book Release of ‘Bihari Mazdooron ki Peeda’

Book titled ‘Bihari Mazdooron ki Peeda’ was released by Shri. Nitish Kumar, CM. the book has been produced by PAIRVI and written by Sh. Arvind Mohan senior journalist and former editor of Dainik Hindustan. Sh. Arvind Mohan, has a rich experience of working on Bihari migrant workers’ issue. ‘Bihari Mazdooron Ki Pida' (Agony of Bihari labourers), is based on the sufferings of the workers from Bihar who went to Punjab in search of job and settled there. 
Sh. Nitish Kumar after congratulating the organizers to raise the issue of migration said that country is one and people are entitled to live in any part of the country. People from Bihar living in other parts of the country are not 'Pravasi' (migrants) rather they are 'Nivasi' (residents). He stressed that government of Bihar will stand firmly in support of migrant facing any atrocity. Arvind Mohan, said that the migration of labours from Bihar still continues but their situation has improved to some extent. Sh. Sanjay Paswan, EX- Minister Government of India, Sh. Manoj Jha, Delhi University, Sh. Shaibal Gupta, Member Secretary ADRI also shared their views. Sh.  Ajay Jha, Director PAIRVI, said that migrants played an important role in economy but are always on the margins. He also shared trends in national and international migration and major problems faced by migrant workers. It was attended by more than 100 academicians, activists, media persons and NGOs.

PAIRVI works with grassroots organization to protect human rights, promote internationally accepted standards of human rights and monitor human rights conditions. It works to strengthen peoples capacity to respond to human rights challenges and improve human rights infrastructure.
