CONSULTATION ON DALIT RIGHT TO FOOD AND LIVELIHOOD, LUCKNOW 2008
Dalit Workshop


Pairvi organized a state consultation on Dalit right to food and livelihood in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 28th August, 2008. It was organized in collaboration with Centre for Community Studies and Research. The consultation discussed about dalit education and land distribution pronlems as well as the role of civil society organizations for the cause of dalits.

NATIONAL ADVOCACY WORKSHOP 2008

Pairvi organized its National Advocacy Workshop at Lucknow from 23th  to 27th September 2008. Chief Guest Prof. Balraj Chauhan, Vice Chancellor, RML University inaugurated the function. Twenty five participants from various civil society organizations in north India attended the workshop.

NATIONAL STRATEGY MEET AGAINST SEZ



Protest movements and people from more than 15 states met on the 19th & 20th Decemeber’07 at Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi in a “National Strategy Meet “to voice their concerns over the growing SEZ s in the country, share their proliferating discontent and protest against them and to plan a National Strategy to make SEZ a prime electoral issue in the coming elections.

It is being increasingly presumed that bio fuels are going to play an extremely important role in meeting global energy needs. In addition to providing energy security and decreased dependence on oil imports, biofuels are stated to have several benefits such as reduced emission of pollutants and GHGs, potential to raise commodity prices, improve farmer income and increase rural employment opportunities especially in agriculture sector.
