PAIRVI is a non-profit advocacy Support Organisation, which seeks to
facilitate and strengthen social advocacy in North and central India.
PAIRVI`s goal is to promote people`s agenda by creating a supportive
climate for advocacy efforts across the region. PAIRVI believes in
facilitating positive social change through non-violent means,
informing both the public and those who frame public policy.
PAIRVI was born out of a resolve to enhance the advocacy competence of the grassroots NGOs and to train social advocates working in North and Central India. It was conceived at an international advocacy Workshop organized at Jaipur by CECOEDECON. The workshop was attended by Mr. David Cohen and Ms. Kathleen Shakeey, co-directors of Advocacy Institute (Washington DC, USA) along with NGOs from Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. Mr. Sharad Joshi, a fellow of Advocacy Institute and CEO of CECOEDECON took the lead in setting up PAIRVI as a vibrant advocacy support organization. |
