Workshop with Farmers in Jharkhand

26th – 27th February, Daltanganj
The training was facilitated by resource person Dr. RP Singh, Director Extention at Birsa Agricultural University, Dr. DK Rusia, Head Dept of Agriculture and Engineering at Birsa Agricultural University, and Ms. Sunita Kamal from KVK Chiyaki, Palamu. The resource persons provided training in- water conservation through dobhas, crop diversification, value additions of food products, rearing smaller livestocks, etc. The meeting was followed by field visit to all 5 villages namey- Bhogu, Kushi, pidiya, Ganke and Salo where advice was given with respect to cropping, water conservation, and increased intervention with agriculture extension services of the government.

Workshop with Uttarkashi Farmers

28th & 29th January 2017, Uttarkashi
A day long training workshop was organized for farmers of 5 panchayat in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on 28 and 29 January 2017. The Workshop was followed by field visit. It was supported by BCPH, PAIRVI and CECOEDECON. The long term objective of the intervention is building resilience of 50 farmers in 5 panchayat in times of changing climate perspective and increased income from agricultural and allied activities.

Farmers Field Training and Demonstration

16th & 17th March 2016, Madhya Pradesh
Pairvi has been conducting farmers’ trainings in the organic farming which increased their access to local/regional weather information to plan their agricultural practices accordingly and built resilience of farmers in changing climate by sharing innovative farming practices. This time Pairvi has organized a field demonstration for farmers by Mr. Deepak Suchde, Mal Pani Trust, who shared the techniques of organic farmer and preparing organic manure. 20 Farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand participated in this workshop which motivated them to engage in organic farming.

Food Funchayat

24th December 2015, Jaipur, Rajasthan

A step towards celebrating traditional good food practices and enabling farmers in India to achieve food sovereignty was made by way of organizing a good-food festival called Food Funchayat. This daylong event was organized by CECOEDECON, Kisan Sewa Samiti and PAIRVI in collaboration with Oxfam India on 24 Dec, 2015 at Shilki Doongri in Chaksu, Jaipur.

Learning Workshop on RKVY

28th Feb 2014, Lucknow
The learning workshop was organized by CECOEDECON and PAIRVI in collaboration with Oxfam India at Jaishankar Prasad Hall, Lucknow. More than 35 participants actively engaged with the discussions. The objective of the workshop was to enhance contribution of farmers in implementation of the RKVY and emphasize their right for planning, which is embedded in the RKVY. Dr. H S Sur, former Advisor, Planning Commission, Sabita Parida and Nand Kishore Singh(Oxfam India), Ajay Jha and Nirma Bora (PAIRVI) participated in the workshop along with some prominent organizations working on agriculture in Uttar Pradesh.
