AJAY K. JHA
Mr. Ajay Kumar Jha is a lawyer by education and training, and a distinguished development policy analyst with over 20 years of experience in the development sector. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of critical global issues, including sustainable development, climate change, food sovereignty, and the rights-based approach to development. With a profound understanding of the intersection between scientific, political, and social policy, Mr. Jha has engaged extensively with major international bodies such as the UNCSD, UNEP, UNFCCC, UNHRC, WTO, and UNCTAD. His advocacy work is deeply rooted in the principles of equity, non-discrimination, and democratic governance, with a particular focus on strengthening human rights infrastructure and advancing the rights of marginalized communities.
In addition to his policy work, Mr. Jha serves as the coordinator for the Movement for Advancing Understanding on Sustainability and Mutuality (MAUSAM). Under his leadership, this Pan-Indian collective—formerly known as Beyond Copenhagen—has become a pivotal initiative for promoting climate justice and sustainable practices. By bridging the gap between local social movements and global policy frameworks, he facilitates critical dialogues across South Asia and the international community to ensure that development remains equitable and accountable.

DINBANDHU VATS
Mr. Dinbandhu Vats is a human rights advocate who has been a vital part of PAIRVI since 2012, currently spearheading the organization’s Human Rights Portfolio. With a core focus on integrating a human rights-based approach into development frameworks, his work is dedicated to fostering grassroots leadership for rights protection and ensuring equitable access to justice for all.
Mr. Vats began his professional journey as a reporter for The Pioneer, building on a strong academic foundation that includes a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of Delhi and a Master’s in Mass Communication from Uttarakhand Open University. His transition from mainstream journalism to specialized advocacy reflects a deep-seated commitment to utilizing communication strategies for social equity and institutional accountability.

RAJNEESH
Mr. Rajneesh has over 20 years of distinguished experience across Hindi journalism, cultural activism, and the publishing sector. A graduate in Hindi Literature from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, he has leveraged his academic foundation to become a leading voice in communications and social advocacy. His expertise bridges the gap between traditional media and grassroots activism, allowing for a nuanced approach to complex socio-political storytelling.
Mr. Rajneesh has been associated with PAIRVI since 2008 and has been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission through strategic leadership and multi-disciplinary expertise. He plays a pivotal role in the design and execution of campaign initiatives and capacity-building programs, with a specialized focus on Human Rights and Climate Change. Beyond program management, he has conducted numerous comprehensive research studies and maintains meticulous editorial oversight of the organization’s publications.

Field Operation

SANTOSH UPADHYAY
Santosh Upadhyay is a well known child rights activist with focus on juvenile justice and prison reforms. He is also the founder of Bandi Adhikar Andolan and has over 30 years of experience in the social sector. He has been associated with PAIRVI for more than a decade. Currently, he is supervising field operations in Rohtas district, Bihar, focusing on ensuring access to legal entitlements for Children in Conflict with Law (CICL) and undertrial prisoners.

SUBHASH CHANDRA DUBEY
Subash Chandra Dubey has over 30 years of experience in the social sector and has been associated with PAIRVI for more than two decades. He is currently serving as a volunteer with PAIRVI in Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar. His work focuses on the empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly women beedi workers. He has extensive experience in community-based development, with a strong interest in the economic and political empowerment of communities. He also heads a voluntary organization, Lok Vikas Sansthan.

AJAY KUMAR SINGOR
Ajay Kumar Singor is a social worker from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh with over 16 years of experience in the development sector. He holds an M.A. in Rural Development from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur. He has been associated with PAIRVI since 2024 and is working as a volunteer in Jabalpur district, supporting beedi workers in their social, economic, and political empowerment. He has previously worked with many organizations on issues including displacement, FRA, gender justice, women’s rights, and social security for unorganized workers.

BIBHA KUMARI
Bibha Kumari has been associated with PAIRVI since 2022 and is working as a volunteer in Bihar. Her field area includes Sarairanjan Block of Samastipur district. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from R.N.A.R. College, Samastipur. Her work focuses on supporting women beedi workers through initiatives aimed at their social and economic empowerment, along with promoting awareness and access to government welfare schemes. Her areas of interest include women’s empowerment, community mobilization, and social security for marginalized sections of society.

SAMUEL MALTO
Samuel Malto has been associated with PAIRVI since 2024 and is working as a volunteer in Jharkhand. His field areas include Sunder Pahari Block of Godda district and Littipara Block of Pakur district. A member of of the Paharia community himself, he works closely with Paharia Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) to advance their social and economic empowerment. He is a graduate from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Deoghar, and is currently pursuing an LL.B. from Vishwanath Law Institute, Munger, Bihar. His interests lie in community organization, education, and connecting rural communities with government schemes.

VIVEK RAJ
Vivek Raj is a lawyer by education and profession. He holds a B.A. LL.B. degree from Lloyd Law College, Uttar Pradesh, and an LL.M. from the Central University of Haryana. He has been associated with PAIRVI since 2024 and is working as a Social Worker. He is actively engaged in legal awareness and social justice initiatives, with a focus on improving access to rights and legal entitlements for Children in Conflict with Law (CICL) and undertrial prisoners in Rohtas district, Bihar.

BHARAT BHUSHAN DUBEY
Bharat Bhushan Dubey is an advocate practicing in the District Courts of Sasaram for more than 15 years. A committed lawyer for social causes, he has been associated with PAIRVI since 2024. He represents cases related to Children in Conflict with Law (CICL) and undertrial prisoners and provides legal support to marginalized communities in Rohtas district, Bihar.

PREM SHANKAR SINGH
Mr. Prem Shankar Singh joined PAIRVI in November 2008. He has done his Masters in Commerce from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. He takes care of administration and logistics, library, filing and correspondence along with the responsibility of the organisation's finance.

Assistance

AMIT WALIA
Mr. Amit Walia has been taking care of office maintenance and hospitality, creating a cheerful and welcoming environment since 2004. He works as an assistant to the Human Rights Program Coordinator to keep the job smooth. He also keeps records related to the programme, ensures maintenance of correspondence and other such responsibilities.

JITENDRA
Mr. Jitendra joined PAIRVI in 2024. He is a proficient driver making possible for the office staff reach their destinations safely.
