PAIRVI Associates (Public Advocacy Initiatives for Rights and Values in India) is providing access to legal aid and entitlements to children in conflict with law and under-trial prisoners in Rohtas district of Bihar. The project provides legal support to ensure bail to juveniles lodged in observation homes as well as in prison and prevent unnecessary arresting of juveniles at Police station level. The project also focuses on linking one third of juveniles who got bail with social security schemes. It provides legal support in release of under-trial prisoners of marginalised sections of society and equally emphasizes on awareness and sensitization of community members and strengthening of Panchayat Level Child Protection Committee.
PAIRVI invites applications for multiple project positions at the above-mentioned location ‘Dehri on Sone, District Rohtas, Bihar’.
Position 1: Field Coordinator (Full Time)
Number of Position : 1
Job Description: Field Coordinator is the key post of this project. S/he will be responsible for the entire operation in the field. S/He will lead the field office and guide the other staffs to achieve the target of this project. S/He will strengthen the social networks and solidarity, establish baseline, collaborate with DLSA and other stakeholders, and ensure bail of children in conflict with law and under-trial prisoners as well as documentation of cases. S/He will ensure linking of children out on bail with social security schemes and strengthening of Panchayat Level Child Protection Committee.
Duration: Three Years
Salary: Negotiable
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
- Post Graduate in Humanity is essential. Law degree is desirable
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in the field of access to justice, child protection and prisoners’ rights is required. Candidates who have worked as a member of the Juvenile Justice Board will be given preferences.
- Knowledge of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and State Child policies
- Equipped enough to provide telephonic legal assistance to family members of children in conflict with law twice a week in designated time slots.
- Ability to interact with a wider variety of stakeholders including police, DLSA, Correctional staffs, judiciary and civil society organisations at district/state level
- Leadership quality, superior team working and collaborating skills
- Motivation, Commitment and Ownership for the delegated responsibilities.

Position 2: Social Worker (Full Time)
Number of Position : 1
Job Description: The position requires highly motivated individual with inclination to serve the people. Social worker will be the key person to coordinate the field activities and field office. S/he will coordinate between children in conflict with law/under-trial prisoners, their family members and lawyers, and act as contact person for inmates and their family members. S/he will assist the field coordinator in field operation in establishing baseline, collaboration with DLSA, case consideration, documentation and consultation, follow up of case, community meetings etc. S/he will be responsible for managing the field office, documentation of cases and reporting.
Duration: One Year (Renewable)

Required Qualification, Experience, and Competencies:
- Masters in Social Work/Sociology or equivalent.
- Work Experience as a Community worker.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other computer applications
- Basic Knowledge about Child Protection, Child Right and legal framework
- Strong liaising and communication skills.
- Documentation and Reporting skills.
- Candidate having bike to travel in field area will be preferred
Position 3: Advocate (Part Time)
Number of Position : 1
Job Description: The project requires an advocate who takes care of legal support to undertrial prisoners and children in conflict with law in getting bail. The advocate will draft the bail petition, file it in the court and represent the victims in court/JJB until they get bail. S/he will also provide telephonic legal assistance to family members of children in conflict with law twice a week in designated time slots and act as one of the point persons of paralegal volunteer training.
Duration: One Year (Renewable)

Required Qualification, Experience, and Competencies:
- Law Graduate
- Practicing lawyer for more than 5 years
- Advocate having prior experience of social sector will be given preferences
- Sound Knowledge of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and State Child policies
