PAIRVI has been, for many years, organizing the national workshops to build perspective of the CSOs on various issues and to create a platform for sharing advocacy strategies, celebrating our successes and reflecting on gaps and challenges. This time PAIRVI has organized the National Workshop on Seeking, Demanding and Organizing Transformational Change at SIDH, Learning Resource Centre, Kempty, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand on 10-12 May 2023. The workshop witnessed participation of 27 participants from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi. This time we had fixed the participants’ age limit of 45 years to get relatively younger participants on board. Advocacy and community outreach are essential skills for anyone who wants to make a positive impact on the world. While working with CSOs it is important to have the ability to rightly communicate the message, mobilize the supporters, and influence the decision-makers. We have collectively learnt how to plan, practice and proceed for advocacy in this participatory and interactive workshop. During this workshop, we have focussed on nature and scope of public advocacy, changing pattern and new avenues of advocacy, planning and evaluation, social investigation and data collection, Sustainable Development Goals, team building and leadership, media advocacy, report writing and photo video documentation.
