Three formal community meeting were organized in Bihar during this project period. First meeting was organized at Ahmdapur Community Library under Sarairanjan Block of Smastipur district, second at Village-Gauda under Chandan Block in Banka District and third at Bhawandih–Navadih under Block Chakai, in Jamui, on 2 August , 6 September and 9th September 2025 respectively. The community meeting of women beedi workers held in Bihar successfully initiated dialogue on collective action and livelihood alternatives. It served as a platform for sharing experiences, accessing information on government schemes, and planning for future activities. The decisions taken during the meeting—formation of groups, application for financial support, and preparation for a larger women’s meeting—mark significant steps towards empowerment. As the process unfolds, the collaboration between PAIRVI, Jeevika, and local women workers is expected to create new pathways for economic resilience, political participation, and social dignity for women beedi workers in the region.
