On March 8, 2025, a community meeting was held with women from the Paharia Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) at Tongi Pahad, Littipada block, Pakur district. Discussions centred around the creation of a formal association for the Paharia community, addressing social protection, and fostering collective identity. This meeting marked a meaningful step in amplifying the voices and rights of one of the most marginalized tribal groups in the region.Social Security Access for Beedi Workers During this period, 40 women beedi workers—28 from Jabalpur and 12 from Samastipur—submitted applications for various social security schemes. In Jabalpur, applications included 15 for beedi worker registration cards, 12 for the Sambal Yojana, and one for the old-age pension. In Samastipur, applications included 7 for labor cards and 5 for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. These efforts aim to secure better social protections for informal women beedi workers.
