Stakeholder Dialogue on Juvenile Justice and Legal Aid

On March 27, 2025, a stakeholder dialogue titled “Breaking Barriers: Collective Action for Juvenile Justice and Legal Aid” was organized at Hotel BNS International, Sasaram. The meeting brought together around 40 key stakeholders including the jail superintendent, probation officers, representatives from the Child Welfare Society, lawyers, journalists, community members, and social workers. The dialogue aimed to address the systemic barriers hindering effective legal aid for juveniles and undertrial prisoners. Discussions emphasized the need for stronger inter-agency collaboration, improved accountability mechanisms, and collective strategies to bridge the legal assistance gap. The exchange of insights yielded several valuable recommendations that will inform ongoing and future interventions in the juvenile justice system.
