International Festival of Peoples Rights and Struggles was organized in collaboration of many organizations led by Pesticide Action Network, Asia Pacific at Cititel Hotel, Penang. Other organizers included Asia Peasants Coalition (APC), Peoples Coalition for Food Sovereignty, Global Peoples Caravan, International League for Peoples Struggles (ILPS), International Migrants Alliance, and International Women’s Alliance etc. More than 530 CSOs and Peoples movements from all continents and 44 countries participated in this festival. The central theme of the Festival was “Unite, Resist and Triumph.” Peoples from all parts of the world shared their struggles and successes as well. Intense study workshops were organized on wide variety of subjects including agro ecology, food and farmers, environment, climate change, energy and renewable energy, human rights, war and peace, indigenous futures etc. over four days. Ajay K Jha participated in the events including People led agro ecology as climate solution, peoples self-reliance in renewable energy and Peoples Resistance vs land grabs, Primer Launch of Peoples Resistance against Militarism and war, and regional agreements on environment in South East Asia. His interventions/talks mainly dwelt on climate crisis, environment and sustainable development, failure of multilateralism and need to decolonize and decarbonize for addressing climate change.
