28th October, Bhopal. PAIRVI has been organizing pre cop consultation before each COP to discuss major issues, prospects, possibilities and challenges specific to that COP. This year a novel practice was initiated by organizing this Pre COP meeting in State rather than Delhi. The preCOP Consultation was organized in collaboration with the AIGGPA (Atal Institute for Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Bhopal), MP Council on Science and Technology and Narmada Samagra. The Consultation was graced with the presence of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and several other dignitaries. More than 300 representatives from the government, CSOs, academic and practitioners participated in this consultation. The consultation published a report including the major expectations from Baku COP 29, which was released by Mr. Naresh Pal Gangwar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, at India Office during COP 29 at Baku.
Along with Bhopal PreCOP consultation,Views and expertise of PAIRVI was sought by many partners to inform their strategies and activities in the coming Baku COP 29. PAIRVI participated in several in person and online meetings to inform major issues of contestation, bottlenecks and possibilities and organize collaborative events and actions at the COP. These meetings took place with MAUSAM partners (8th Nov), with YUVA (17th Oct.), with INECC (2nd Oct.), with COP 29 side events partners (24th Oct. & 6th Nov) with ISS, the Hague (25th Oct and 6th Nov), and with Asian Groups on the 5th Sept.
