The community meeting with women beedi workers was organized on 18 December at Khalispur village, Sarairanjan Block, Samastipur District. More than 50 women beedi workers participated in the meeting. The primary purpose of the meeting was to finalize a three-month skill development training programme, scheduled to begin in January next year. Participants expressed strong interest in sewing/ tailoring training as a preferred livelihood option. During the discussion, key aspects such as selection of trainers, training structure, schedule, and related logistical issues were deliberated upon and finalized. The meeting marked an important step toward enhancing alternative livelihood opportunities for women beedi workers and supporting their economic empowerment.
