PAIRVI conducted nine community meetings across the villages of Maudihan, Chilbila,  Dhelhan  Mathurapur  Khudrawan, Arjun Bigha, Ganuwan, Rophtha, and Gohin in Rohtas district on 27th Ocober, 3rd November, 24th November, 15th December, 9th February, 14th February, 16th February, 7th March and 9th March respectively . These meetings collectively witnessed the active engagement of 478 community members. The primary focus of these gatherings was to raise awareness about PAIRVI’s ongoing initiatives to ensure access to justice and legal entitlements for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and under trial prisoners. The meetings aimed to inform communities about the objectives of the project, foster relationships with local stakeholders, identify CICL and under trial cases, and enlist community-based paralegal volunteers. Engagement with Paharia PVTGs on International Women’s Day

On March 8, 2025, a community meeting was held with women from the Paharia Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) at Tongi Pahad, Littipada block, Pakur district. Discussions centred around the creation of a formal association for the Paharia community, addressing social protection, and fostering collective identity. This meeting marked a meaningful step in amplifying the voices and rights of one of the most marginalized tribal groups in the region.Social Security Access for Beedi Workers During this period, 40 women beedi workers—28 from Jabalpur and 12 from Samastipur—submitted applications for various social security schemes. In Jabalpur, applications included 15 for beedi worker registration cards, 12 for the Sambal Yojana, and one for the old-age pension. Paralegal Volunteer Workshop on Child Protection

A two-day workshop was held on February 21–22, 2025, at Rimjhim Hotel, Dehri-on-Sone, Sasaram, in partnership with the District Legal Services Authority, Rohtas. The workshop, led by Advocate Shashi Sharma of the Patna High Court, focused on the legal frameworks pertaining to child protection, including the Juvenile Justice Act and the POCSO Act. The training also covered practical skills related to identifying CICL and Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP), the role of PLVs in the legal aid system, and strengthening the functioning of local Child Protection Committees. A total of 30 PLVs participated—18 women and 12 men—with strong representation from marginalized communities: 9 from OBCs, 7 from EBCs, 7 from Scheduled Castes, 5 from Scheduled Tribes, and 2 from the general category. Community meeting with Paharaia PVTGS was held on 28th November at Kosi Gora village under Littipara block in Pakur. The meeting brought together around 50 community members from villages including Kosi Gora, Litti Pahad, Danda Kuria, and Chhota Ghaghra. The meeting began with a traditional song by community members. Dinbandhu Vats from PAIRVI briefed about the organisation and prospect of future engagement with the community members.  PAIRVI has been working with the Paharia community to ensure access to social security, enhance economic empowerment, develop local leadership and create a community led formal association.  Participants discussed on socio-economic issues, agriculture, and strategies to empower the community. Meeting with Beedi Workers, Samastipur

On 24th November 2024, the community meeting was held in Akhtiyarpur village, located in the Sarai Ranjan block of Samastipur district, with around 50 participants from the villages of Khalispur, Narghoghi, Gangsara, and Ahmadpur. Veena Kumari, the Block Head of Sarai Ranjan, was present at the meeting. The gathering aimed to strengthen connections with local communities, identify leaders and youth, and understand their aspirations and expectations. The meeting facilitated deeper community engagement and helped pinpoint opportunities for income generation and collective reflection. Most of the women attending belonged to minority communities. They voiced concerns about the lack of alternative livelihoods and suggested home-based work, such as packaging or wrapping small goods. The project was launched in this public consultation at Dehri on Sone in Bihar on 20th October. The project will support access to justice for children, juveniles and under trial prisoners in four blocks of Sasaram and Aurangabad districts of Bihar. Shri Dhirendra Kumar Mishra, District Judge 2, Dr. Nirmal Singh (renowned Paeditrician),  Shri Dadan Pandey (Member, BWC), Rajneesh Kumar Singh (district probation Officer), Shri Tej Bali Singh (Member, JJB) and Mr. Santosh Upadhyay (child rights and prison rights advocate) along with many relevant stakeholders from the government, District Legal Services Authority, CSOs and local government representatives participated in the meeting which was facilitated by Dinbandhu Vats and Rajneesh (PAIRVI). The workshop was co-organised by PAIRVI & EKA, Madhya Pradesh at Bhopal from 4th to 6th October 2024. The workshop attempted to create space for groups and individuals involved in advocacy initiatives to come together, share experiences and learn from each other. Facilitators were from the organizing team and the participant team as well. The workshop was interactive and rely on the sharing from the participants. We collectively learned how to plan, practice and proceed for advocacy. We also learned the better ways of networking, mobilization, communication, documentation, team building, and leadership. 27 August 2024, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Workshop was organized to discuss the concerns, challenges and possibilities of civil society organisation in wake of new crisis during contemporary period. Around 30 human rights defenders from Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan participated in the workshop.  Community leaders form Paharia PVTGs of Jharkhand and beedi workers of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh shared their experiences, achievements, concerns and future strategy to work with local communities. This workshop also developed their better understanding of forest and tribal rights, new legal regime in India.

13th August 2024, ISI, Delhi. PAIRVI organized a youth dialogue with Shehri Mahila Kamgar Union, a platform of unorganized workers in construction, sanitation and home/care. More than 25 youth from this platform engaged in an intensive discussion on climate change, reasons and drivers, impacts, actions to prevent climate change, how it affects their communities and how they can contribute more towards climate policy and action. The consultation also discussed developing community action plan and the youth expressed keen interest to develop an action plan for their community.

They were part of our social security campaing during previous project. Now they are looking for new opportunities. Possibility of forming self help group of women beedi workers at Jabalpur were discussed actively during the informal meeting.
