Fellow speakers included UNEP Director, Asia & the Pacific, ED of the ICIMOD and Food & Agriculture Officer, FAO, and Coordinator, UN DRR.

Ajay K Jha (representing CECOEDECON) was re-elected for two years at the Board of Conveners Meeting held on 15thMay. He has served two terms as a Board member and an Alternate earlier, this will be his third and last term on the Board of Conveners. The Board Meeting discussed modalities for a Biennial Conference and General Body Meeting.

Our Role in Care and Protection of Children during Pandemic

This online consultation was organized to discuss the issue of schooling particularly for children of deprived section on 7th April 2021. Closure of educational institutions because of the pandemic has affected adversely the education of poor students. Lack of access to computer, smart phone, and internet particularly in rural make the online class a distant dream for students of poor background. During the consultation speakers focused on education through community radio. An innovative idea of Mera Ghar-Mera School was discussed during the consultation which aims to teach the students at their doorsteps with trained volunteers.
