The Workshop 'Climate Change and Resilience in Uttarakhand' co-organized by PAIRVI, Department of Geography, Doon University and Uttaranchal Development Institute was held at Nityanand Conference Hall, Doon University, Dehradun on 31 March 2026, . The workshop, part of a broader series of state-level consultations by PAIRVI, brought together policymakers, researchers, civil society actors, journalists, and community leaders to deliberate on climate governance, adaptation, and resilience in the Himalayan region. Ajay Jha, PAIRVI highlighted the intensifying global climate crisis, noting rising temperatures, increasing extreme weather events, and disproportionate vulnerabilities in hill regions. 24th to 27th February, 2026, United Nations Conference Centre, Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Around 100 participants from the Peoples Forum organized by APRCEM participated in the 13th APFSD. The APRCEM organizes interface of the APFSD with CSOs participants making best possible efforts to facilitate equitable representation of all constituency, sub region and interest groups in the managing speaking opportunities and interventions from the CSOs. This year, 27 speakers including 4 plenary speakers were able to make their interventions during the plenaries over three days. Besides, 4 speakers were also part of the Round Table Dialogue on the SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11 and Financing for development. APPFSD also known as Peoples Forum, is a counter space organized by the Asia Pacific Regional CSOs Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM) since 2014. It takes place immediately before the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development organized by UN ESCAP. However, it also serves as an engagement and capacity building space for CSOs, youth and women’s organizations as well as peoples movements who want to engage at the national, regional and global levels on issues related to sustainability, human rights and development. The Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) composed of elected focal points of all the thematic and sub-regional constituencies is the highest decision making body of the APRCEM. The RCC met on 21st February to conduct  (i) election of Co Chairs for the term 2026-2029, (ii) discuss outgoing co-chairs report (iii) develop RCC/constituency plans, and (iv) review the preparations for the Peoples Forum and the APFSD 2026. While Ajay K Jha (Focal point of Farmers Constituency) and Joy Hernandez (Focal Point Workers & Trade Union) were re-elected as Co Chairs, the RCC also elected Shilpa Lamichhane (focal point South and southwest Asia) as the third co chair.

The OEWG 3.2 meeting was held in Punta Del Este Uruguay during 14th to 20th June. Ajay K Jha participated as the representative of the UNEP farmers Major Group. He also delivered the collective statement on behalf of all major groups and stakeholders present in this consultation. Following the OEWG Meeting, and after three years negotiation, the Intergovernmental Meeting set up the Intergovernmental Science Panel on Chemical Waste and Pollution. This is a welcome development in the environmental multilateralism to deal with chemical, waste and pollution at global and national level.
