During October and November, a number of video and audio (podcast) material was produced by ShriSoumyaDutta in English and Hindi on major issues before COP 26, climate justice, Net Zero, update on the first week, update on the 2nd week and final analysis of COP 26 outcomes. This was widely shared among the members of MAUSAM, COP 26 participants and members of friendly networks like CFA.

MGOS Coordination Mechanism organized a meeting with the President of ECOSOC, Amb. Collen Vixen Kelapile, PR of Botswana. He discussed his proposals on strengthening the ECOSOC and the HLPF and received views of the MGOS on various issues including HLPF, VNRs, Partnership Forum etc. he agreed on a number of issues faced with the MGOS in their participation in the HLPF and other ECOSOC organized events and assured to look into it in order to strengthen the role and participation of the MGOS. A follow up meeting has been proposed in January 2022.

Consultation on Juvenile Justice System: Children and Guardians in Prison

The Consultation was organized on 22nd November as a follow up of previous consultation on the same issue. Prof Sanjay Paswan, MLC and Coordinator, Prison Reforms Committee Bihar Legislative Council, Nisha Jha, former Chairperson, State Commission for protection of Child Rights, Bihar, Mukhtarul Haq, Bachpan Bachao Andolan, Santosh Upadhyaya, Bandi Adhikar Andolan, Sunil Jha Child Rights Activist, Praveen Kumar, Law Foundation Bihar, Santosh Kumar Advocate Patna High court and many other prominent activists and CSOs participated in the consultation. It was decided to undertake sustained advocacy campaign on the issue and form a delegation to meet IG prisons, Shri Mithilish Mishra. Dinbandhu Vats led the consultation on behalf of PAIRVI.

COP 26 was held at Glasgow, Scotland amid huge expectations in the light of rapidly advancing climate crisis. Major expectations included increased ambition from Industrialized countries in terms of mitigation, providing finance, and agreeing for a financing mechanism of Loss and Damage. Besides, completing Paris Rule Boom by finalizing Cooperation Approaches/Market mechanisms. A 11 member delegation of MAUSAM including members of CECOEDECON & PAIRVI participated in the COP 26 and its various events. Advocacy Training for Empowering the adolescent Girl

PAIRVI conducted an Advocacy Training for youth group organized by PANI, UP in Ambedkar Nagar on 12th to 14th November. The workshop focused on advocacy for young girls aged between 16-19 on health, nutrition and education. Young activists were imparted trainings to understand about the basics of advocacy, community led advocacy, importance of information in advocacy and develop clear understanding to prepare the advocacy plan at community level.  Dinbandhu Vats was the principal facilitator for the workshop.

E-Shram Card Camps in Bihar

Our Local Partner Lok Vikas Sansthan organized the camps in the month of October–November. During these camps e-Shram card was issued to 81 women beedi workers and 75 other informal labors in Jamui and Banka districts in Bihar. It will have details of name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types and family details etc. for optimum realization of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them.

The South Asia CSOs Forum was organized on 9th& 10th November by APRCEM South Asia Constituency. United Nations Environment Assembly will take place in February 2022 at Nairobi Kenya. Major Groups Facilitating Committee (MGFC) of the UNEP has been preparing through a series of activities towards UNEA. An MGFC International Consultation was organized during 7th to 10th 155th CPR Meeting on 28th September, Annual Sub Committee of the UNEA and CPR Bureau Meeting on 25th October, and MGFC Calls on 15th September, and 27th October were also organized towards the preparation of the UNEA. Ajay K Jha also leads the Food Systems Transformation Track towards the UNEA 5.2 and a meeting was organized on Food systems Transformation on 22nd October.
